I began my basketball journey at the age of 7 years old. As I grew older, and continued to play a wide variety of sports, I realized that basketball was my passion. Basketball challenged me in ways no other sport could – mentally, physically, and emotionally. I found myself drawn to the discipline, IQ, and athleticism needed to play and succeed. Through both high school Varsity play and AAU play, I have learned how to compete at a fast pace while realizing the importance of my defensive game in addition to my offensive play. While I am a smaller guard, I use my athleticism and speed to finish through contact while being able to shoot on and off the dribble. I pride myself in my defensive efforts and my ability to get stops on the perimeter.
Starting as a freshman on my high school Varsity team taught me the importance of playing with confidence. I have also been able to grow my game each summer at Phenom 150 Camp under the instruction of Coach Dave Taylor. I use his advice and principles in both my basketball journey and my everyday life.
In addition to basketball, I also run Varsity Track, making it last year to 6A Regionals in the 4 x 400 relay. Running track helps me continue to build speed, endurance, and competitiveness while also challenging me mentally and physically.
Finally, I pride myself in being a student just as much as an athlete. I make straight A’s in the classroom while also challenging myself with a difficult course card.
Some of my accolades include:
